Jester's Atlas.
An explorer's map with a compass whose needle is shaped like a jester cap

Every great game is a place worth visiting.

We are a small crew of Gold Coast wanderers who review joker-themed casual games the way travel writers review coastal towns — slowly, fondly, and with plenty of notes in the margins.

Five stops on this season's route

Carnival Compass game cover: a brass compass with a jester needle at a fairground
Stop 01 · Exploration Puzzle

Carnival Compass

You are handed a compass whose needle points not north but toward the nearest unsolved riddle. Each fairground map opens gently, then folds in on itself like origami. The final carousel puzzle is the best thirty minutes we spent all month.

Jester's Journey game cover: a jester walking a winding path toward a castle
Stop 02 · Walking Adventure

Jester's Journey

A gentle one-thumb walking game. Your jester strolls between card-shaped milestones, trading jokes for directions. Nothing hurries you. The hills roll, the lute plays, and every chapter ends with a sunset worth waiting for.

Wildcard Waypoints game cover: a conductor jester with a lantern on a night railway platform
Stop 03 · Route Builder

Wildcard Waypoints

Lay track between stations named after card suits while a moustachioed conductor jester critiques your junctions. The route-planning puzzles are crisp, and the night-time art style deserves a frame on someone's wall.

Masquerade Mile game cover: a lantern-lit evening parade of masked figures
Stop 04 · Hidden Object

Masquerade Mile

One long, lantern-lit street; hundreds of masks; one jester hiding among them. A hidden-object game with real patience and craft. A few late scenes recycle props, which is the only smudge on an otherwise lovely postcard.

Bearing: 300° of 360° ✦✦✦✦♢
Baggage of Bells game cover: a luggage trolley stacked with cases, a jester cap springing from one
Stop 05 · Packing Puzzle

Baggage of Bells

Tetris meets a hotel porter's nightmare. Pack absurd luggage onto a trolley before the ferry departs, while a jack-in-the-box jester keeps popping the lids open. Chaotic, cheerful, and shorter than we wished.

Field notes from the crew

Short observations that didn't fit in a full report but were too good to leave in the notebook.

On difficulty curves

The best joker games treat difficulty like altitude: climb slowly, breathe often, and always give the player a bench with a view before the next ascent.

On sound design

A jester's bell should be a promise, not a threat. Carnival Compass understands this; its chimes signal discovery, never failure. More studios should take note.

On endings

We keep a rule: a casual game earns its ending if we would replay the first chapter immediately after the credits. Three of this season's five stops passed.
